Well as can bee seen on my timeline i finally had AF turn up after being over 2 weeks late at the beginning of September, well as of the beginning of this week she showed up again. I got rather frustrated as i had barely got over the last one. You see i have quite sensitive skin and so what i use pads or tampons they do irritate a
Well i had to go to Boots today so i could pick up my small packet of photos, (by small packet i mean i had almost every picture i have on my facebook and hard drive printed so quite alot) so i would go and have a look at the mooncups. I found them and they were £21.99, i know this is quite a lot of money but if you think about it, i spend around £10 a month on different sanitary products (pads, tampons, soothing cream, wipes) and so a few months and it has paid for its self. A very big plus point is its says it can last around 10 year !!!!!!! just think if i was spending £10 per month that is £120 a year that is £1200 in 10 years, so i would be saving £1178 i think that is well worth it. Well when pick one there are 2 sizes, A and B, A is for AFTER you are 30 and AFTER you have had a baby, and B is for BEFORE you are 30 and BEFORE you have had a baby, this is just the easiest way to remember. the only difference is A is something like 3mm bigger then the B. Obviously as i am only 23 and have never had a baby i went for the B. In the box you get a little cloth drawstring bag with the moocup inside. the mooncup looks a little bit like an upturned bell, (see below) with a stalk on the end which you have to cut down. So far i have had it in for about 3 hours and it is nothing like a tampon, even thought you are not supposed to really feel a tampon i always can, i think that is in most part due to the sensitivity but this cup i have only really felt it when i first inserted it, there has been no leaks yet, i feel very comfortable. I will carry on using it as i need to give it a try but i cant think of any reason why i would ever go back to pads/tampons, you can wear them in bed so i will try it but i am not too convinced it will be a good idea as i do move a lot when i am asleep so we will see, i will maybe wear a pad too for tonight just to be on the safe side but i will be back with more 'news' when i have tried it for a little longer.
